A&W 20,000 Series Dynamometer (2/23)
Dynamometer allows for a mechanical load to be put on a motor to assure the motor performs at the highest quality and performance standards.
VPI System (3/23)
Our 6′ Epoxylite Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) System results in total saturation with elimination of voids due to air pockets. Coils are cured to a rigid state which resists premature failure from movement and environmental contamination.
Vibration Analysis Systems (4/23)
Warwood Armature now uses Two Commtest Analyzers and software to view and plot data received from vibration monitors, allowing faster, more accurate determination of the condition of rotating machinery to help prevent unexpected production stoppages.
A Routine Vibration Survey can:
- Indicate Machinery Health via Plant Assessment & Benchmarking
- Prevent Unscheduled Downtime
- Shorten Downtime-Failure Defense Planning
- Predict and Prevent Catastrophic Failures
- Reduce Energy Cost
G&L #4 Horizontal Boring Mill (5/23)
Used to machine large stator and locomotive field frames.
Infrared Thermography (6/23)
Infrared thermography is an exciting technology with divers applications used for predictive and preventative maintenance (P/PM) to condition monitoring, from nondestructive testing (NDT) to research and development (R&D), from process control to quality control, and from building diagnostics to security and surveillance.
Infrared Technology is a cost effective method of visually detecting Electrical Problems that generate heat and has been most effective in preventing electrical downtime.
Motor Management Warehouse (8/23)
100,000 square foot Motor Management Warehouse allows you to store your motors in our climate controlled environment saving you valuable floor space.
Dip Tank (9/23)
Large 7 Ft. 5″ dia. Dip Tank used to overcoat copper windings with polyester resin in order to protect from environmental contamination.
Curing Ovens (10/23)
Four large curing ovens cure motors after going through the VPI process and dry out motors after being steam cleaned.
Burn Off Oven (11/23)
Pollution controlled and temperature monitored 7x7x7 burn off oven with water suppression system to break down failed windings without comprising stator laminations.
60" Form Coil Spreader (12/23)
Used to manufacture form coils to OEM specifications.
3 Laser Alignment Systems (13/23)
A third laser alignment system has been added to upgrade and extend the current Alignment Systems to better server our customers’ needs.
Precision alignment methods:
- Increase bearing, shaft and coupling life
- Result in longer equipment life and less down time
- 50% reduction in breakdowns due to misalignment
- Reduce energy consumption and noise levels
- More than pay for themselves
Laser alignment is more reliable and less time consuming than traditional methods. Warwood Armature recommends laser alignment upon installation to extend the life of your equipment.
25 Ton Crane Capacity (14/23)
With over 40 cranes and the ability to lift and move 25 tons, no job is too big for Warwood Armature.
Cellular Dispatched Trucks (15/23)
With over 10 cellular dispatched trucks, Warwood Armature has a fleet large enough to meet your needs.
10 Ton Balancing Stand (16/23)
Our in-house and on-site balancing team is dedicated to maintaining your equipment to perform at peak efficiency.
Advantages:
- Substantially increase the life of rotating equipment
- Reduced operational costs
- Environmental Noise control
- Warwood Armature’s Predictive Maintenance Program can provide you with trending information that will enable you to plan for balancing at a convenient time.
Our Capabilities:
- 3 balancing stands, capacity of 10 tons, 11 ft. length, 8.5 ft OD
- Standard tolerance ISO 1940 g1.5
- Dynamic Research, IRD and CSI balancing equipment
- Rolls, Gears, Fans, Mills, Armatures & Rotors
- Standard tolerance ISO 1940 g1.5
Most OEMs recommend trim balancing on new installations.
If it turns, we can balance it!
6'x6'x7' Sandblast Room (17/23)
Enclosed 6’x6’x7′ sandblast room used to remove rust and contamination.
10'x10'x22' Sandblast Room (18/23)
Appearance may not be everything, but sometimes size does matter.
Room dimensions 10ft x 10ft x 22ft.
14 Lathes (19/23)
With 14 lathes (18″ to 50″) Warwood Armature is able to meet all your motor related machining needs.
Cryogenic Cleaning System (20/23)
Eliminates Equipment Damage
CO2 blasting eliminates equipment damage in two ways. First, dry ice does not erode or wear away the targeted surface as traditional grit media and even wire brushes do. This means you preserve surface integrity and critical tolerances and will not have to replace equipment because of surface erosion common with sand, glass beads, and other abrasive media.
Reduces or Eliminates Solvent Use
Many users of CO2 blast cleaning do so because of the need to reduce or eliminate solvent use. Sometimes solvent reductions are necessary to comply with environmental regulations, other times to improve worker safety. Regardless of the reason, these reductions are often quite dramatic. CO2 blasting can dramatically reduce chemical by several hundred gallons per year and eliminates the associated hazardous waste disposal.
Rockford Hydraulic Vertical Slotter (21/23)
Expanded Machining Capabilities:
- Tilting head – up to 3° taper
- 26″ Indexable Rotary Table
- 12″ Stroke
SKF Dynamic Motor Analyzer EXP 4000 (22/23)
The SKF Dynamic Motor Analyzer EXP4000 is a motor monitoring and troubleshooting tool that helps minimize failures and maximize the life of the machine.
It clearly detects when a problem is either electrical or mechanical and tracks multiple data types to identify trends that indicate potential problems.
The EXP4000 acquires data using several testing domains. These include:
- Power quality
- Machine performance
- Current
- Torque
- Variable-frequency drives
- Continuous monitoring
- Transient analysis
- Efficiency
Data collected from tests performed in these domains can be captured and stored for use in reports, maintenance records, and trend analysis.
The EXP4000 evaluates current and current unbalances to assess the overall electrical condition of the motor and provides detailed power analysis and rotor bar spectrum analysis views.
Schleich WM4500 Coil Machine (23/23)
We have recently added a Schleich WM4500 Automatic Coil machine. The programmable machine creates a more uniform and consistent AC stator and DC Field coils. The automatic layer winding feature is a benefit while inserting the newly manufactured coils, to provide a professional rewind.
