2000KVA Phenix Motor Test Center (1/23)
Our test center includes comprehensive testing capabilities for both AC and DC motors, enabling load and no-load testing of motors up to 50,000HP.
A&W 20,000 Series Dynamometer (2/23)
Our Dynamometer allows for a mechanical load to be put on a motor to assure it performs at the highest quality and performance standards.
6-foot Epoxylite Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) System (3/23)
Our 6-foot Epoxylite Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) System results in total saturation with elimination of voids due to air pockets. Coils are cured to a rigid state which resists premature failure from movement and environmental contamination.
Vibration Analysis Systems (4/23)
Warwood Armature uses Commtest Analyzers and software to view and plot data received from vibration monitors, allowing faster, more accurate determination of the condition of rotating machinery to help prevent unexpected production stoppages.
A routine vibration survey can:
- Indicate machinery health via plant assessment and benchmarking.
- Prevent unscheduled downtime.
- Shorten downtime-failure defense planning.
- Predict and prevent catastrophic failures.
- Reduce energy cost.
G&L #4 Horizontal Boring Mill (5/23)
Our boring mills have the capacity to machine large stator and locomotive field frames.
Infrared Thermography (6/23)
As a cost-effective method of visually detecting electrical problems and heat generation, we use infrared thermography for Predictive and preventative maintenance (P/PM), condition monitoring, and nondestructive testing (NDT).
50,000-square-foot Repair Facility (7/23)
Our Wheeling, West Virginia, location features a 50,000-square-foot repair facility.
100,000-square-foot Motor Management Warehouse (8/23)
Our 100,000-square-foot, climate-controlled motor management warehouse stores your motors safely and saves you valuable floor space.
7-foot, 5-inch-diameter Dip Tank (9/23)
We overcoat copper windings with polyester resin in our large, 7-foot, 5-inch-diameter dip tank to protect against environmental contamination.
Curing Ovens (10/23)
Our four large curing ovens cure motors after VPI processing and dry them after stream cleaning.
7x7x7-foot Burn Off Oven (11/23)
Warwood Armature breaks down failed windings without compromising stator laminations using a water suppression system in our pollution-controlled and temperature-monitored 7x7x7-foot burn off oven.
60-inch Form Coil Spreader (12/23)
We manufacture form coils to OEM specifications with a 60-inch form coil spreader.
Three Laser Alignment Systems (13/23)
Warwood Armature features three laser alignment systems, providing our customers with precision alignment that is more reliable and faster than traditional methods.
Precise alignment:
- Increases bearing, shaft, and coupling life.
- Extends equipment life.
- Reduces downtime and misalignment breakdowns.
- Lowers energy consumption and noise levels.
- Pays for itself in cost savings.
We recommend laser alignment upon installation to extend the life of your equipment.
25-ton Crane Capacity (14/23)
With over 40 cranes and the ability to lift and move 25 tons, no job is too big for Warwood Armature.
10 Cellular-Dispatched Trucks (15/23)
With over 10 cellular dispatched trucks, Warwood Armature has a fleet large enough to meet your needs.
10-ton Balancing Stand (16/23)
If it turns, we can balance it! Our in-house and on-site balancing team is dedicated to ensuring your equipment operates at peak efficiency.
Balanced systems:
Warwood Armature’s balancing services include:
- Three balancing stands capable of handling 10 tons, lengths of 11 feet, and OD of 8.5 feet.
- Standard tolerance ISO 1940 g1.5.
- Dynamic Research, IRD, and CSI balancing equipment
- Rolls, gears, fans, mills, armatures, and rotors.
Most OEMs recommend trim balancing on new installations.
Whether new or existing, our balancing team can substantially increase the lifespan of your rotating equipment, reduce its operational costs, and minimize environmental noise.
HECO’s Predictive Maintenance Program can also provide you with trending information to help you plan balancing at a convenient time.
6x6x7-foot Sandblast Room (17/23)
Our enclosed 6x6x7-foot sandblast room removes rust and contamination.
10x10x22-foot Sandblast Room (18/23)
For larger sandblasting and cleaning jobs, we also have a 10x10x22-foot sandblast room.
14 Lathes and 14- to 50-inch Lathe Capacity (19/23)
With 14 lathes and lathe capacity of 18 to 50 inches, Warwood Armature is able to meet all your motor-related machining needs.
Cryogenic Cleaning System (20/23)
Our cryogenic cleaning systems utilize solid carbon dioxide (CO2) in the form of dry ice pellets to prevent component damage and minimize environmental impact.
This cleaning method:
- Preserves surface integrity and critical tolerances.
- Does not erode or wear away targeted surfaces, unlike grit media and wire brushes.
- Reduces or eliminates the use of solvents and related hazardous waste disposal, environmental regulation compliance, and worker safety concerns.
Rockford Hydraulic Vertical Slotter (21/23)
Our expanded machining capabilities include:
- A tilting head with up to 3° taper.
- 26-inch indexable rotary table.
- 12-inch stroke.
SKF Dynamic Motor Analyzer EXP 4000 (22/23)
The SKF Dynamic Motor Analyzer EXP4000 is a motor monitoring and troubleshooting tool that helps minimize failures and maximize the life of the machine.
It clearly detects when a problem is either electrical or mechanical and tracks multiple data types to identify trends that indicate potential problems.
The EXP4000 acquires data using several testing domains. These include:
- Power quality
- Machine performance
- Current
- Torque
- Variable-frequency drives
- Continuous monitoring
- Transient analysis
- Efficiency
Data collected from tests performed in these domains can be captured and stored for use in reports, maintenance records, and trend analysis.
The EXP4000 evaluates current and current unbalances to assess the overall electrical condition of the motor and provides detailed power analysis and rotor bar spectrum analysis views.
Schleich WM4500 Automatic Coil Machine (23/23)
Capable of creating more uniform and consistent AC stator and DC field coils, our programmable Schleich WM4500 Automatic Coil Machine with an automatic layer winding feature makes inserting coils during a rewind more efficient.
